Volunteer Requirements & Guidelines

APPLICANTS MUST READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW!

WHO SHOULD VOLUNTEER
The volunteer program is a great way to meet fellow like-minded people in the podcast community while supporting our event and giving back.  We highly recommend purchasing a ticket and participating as a regular attendee if you would like to take full advantage of sessions and happening at our events.  If the general attendee tickets are not an option for you, the volunteer program may be a good way to trade some time supporting our team for access to some sessions and events.  Applicants should display:
- A positive attitude
- Passion for podcasting
- Punctuality! - must arrive for shifts on time
- Engagement in their role
- Comfort with high public visibility - outgoing personalities are a plus
- Excellent customer service skills
- Personal awareness and emotional maturity
- Flexibility

WHO SHOULD NOT VOLUNTEER
Volunteering requires that you have open availability during ALL live event dates.  We usually coordinate shifts in such a way that you will work for about 50% of the event and have free time to attend sessions for about 50% of the time and we do our best to assign your preferred shift and accommodate exceptions.  If you can not commit to working during ANY shift you may be assigned, please consider purchasing a ticket instead.  Shifts are typically confirmed within 1-2 weeks of the event.  Please do NOT apply if:
- You have limited availability and require specific shifts
- You’re unable to work in a team environment
- You’re unable to communicate with others in a friendly and polite way
- You’re unable to maintain professionalism

BEFORE THE CONFERENCE

Be open to working any shifts during the conference you may be assigned.
We typically have a few pre-conference activities we always welcome support for and you will receive more info via email on:
- Bag Stuffing
- Early Registration Party
- Other potential activities

DURING THE CONFERENCE
You can expect to work for about 50% of the conference. In most cases, you will still be able to attend many of the sessions you prefer. We try to accommodate your preferences, but your volunteer service will take priority.

VOLUNTEER ROLE DESCRIPTIONS
-Room Manager- Each of our session rooms will have one room manager that will communicate directly with our team and the speakers in that room. The role will primarily be responsible for keeping the session on schedule (communicating with speakers when to start and wrap), distribute handouts as needed, facilitate microphones for Q&A, and communicate with the Podcast Movement team for any major issues that may arise.
